Islam Education Curriculum

Abstract


The Islamic education curriculum is an important guideline in the implementation of education aimed at shaping students into individuals who are faithful, pious, knowledgeable, and possess noble character. This study discusses the basic concepts of the Islamic education curriculum, including the definition of curriculum, curriculum components, basic framework, curriculum foundations, principles of curriculum development, classification of knowledge, curriculum orientation, and curriculum organization in Islamic education. The Islamic education curriculum is developed based on the Qur'an, Hadith, ijtihad, as well as social and cultural values that are in accordance with Islamic teachings. In addition, the Islamic education curriculum emphasizes the balance between religious knowledge and general knowledge so that students are able to face modern developments without abandoning Islamic values. A well-organized curriculum is expected to create an effective, directed, and comprehensive learning process in order to produce a generation of Muslims who are intelligent, have good character, and are responsible in social life.
