Penerapan Model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa tentang Makna Puasa Ramadhan di Kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar Negeri 081239 Sibolga
Abstract
This study aims to identify the impact of the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on improving the understanding of 5th-grade students at SD Negeri 081239 Sibolga regarding the meaning of Ramadan fasting. The research was conducted during the Ramadan month, involving 30 students. The research methods used were observation, interviews, and evaluation tests before and after the application of PBL. The results showed that the implementation of PBL successfully improved students' understanding of Ramadan fasting, not only in physical aspects (withholding food and drink), but also in moral and spiritual values such as patience, empathy, and gratitude. The implementation of PBL also encouraged active student involvement in learning, enhanced critical thinking skills, and strengthened students' social character. Therefore, PBL can be an effective alternative learning model for Islamic education at the elementary school level.
