Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and personality, especially in instilling mutual respect. In the era of globalization marked by diversity, character building that upholds the value of respect becomes increasingly important. However, at SD N 177065 Pardomuan, despite academic progress, there are challenges in character development, particularly in mutual respect. Some students exhibit disrespectful behaviors, such as not listening when peers speak or mocking each other. Conventional teaching methods used in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) are less effective in instilling these values. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model offers a solution by placing students at the center of learning through solving real-life problems relevant to them. This study aims to implement PBL in PAI learning at SD N 177065 Pardomuan to enhance students' understanding and application of mutual respect values.
