Abstract


This study aims to analyze the implementation of a value-based moral teaching method to enhance students' character in the topic of Respecting Teachers in Grade V of SDN 105428 Silau Merawan during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a cyclical model consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the application of the value-based moral teaching method significantly improves students' understanding of the topic of respecting teachers. Additionally, there was an enhancement in students' character, as demonstrated by their politeness, empathy, and respect for teachers in daily learning activities. The success of this method was supported by the integration of moral values into the learning process through interactive approaches, discussions, and habitual practice. Thus, implementing value-based moral teaching methods can be an effective alternative for shaping students' character aligned with moral and cultural values. This study recommends applying similar methods to other topics to comprehensively strengthen students' character.
