Abstract


This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students through the implementation of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) method on the topic Living a Generous Life by Sharing with the subtopics of Zakat, Sedekah, and Infak at SDN 100712 Hapesong Lama. This research employs a classroom action research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, which include the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 30 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study show that the implementation of the contextual teaching method significantly improved students' learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in the average student score from 67 in the first cycle to 85 in the second cycle. Additionally, students showed improvements in active participation, conceptual understanding, and the ability to apply the material in daily life. Thus, the contextual teaching and learning method has proven to be effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes on the topic Living a Generous Life by Sharing in the fifth-grade class at SDN 100712 Hapesong Lama.
