Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method on the topic Welcoming the Age of Puberty in the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education subject for Grade IV students at SD Negeri 10 Kotapinang, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 30 fourth-grade students. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests, observations, and interviews. The results showed that the implementation of the PBL method could enhance students' learning outcomes, as indicated by the increase in the average student score from 65 in the first cycle to 80 in the second cycle. Furthermore, there was an improvement in students' motivation and participation during the learning process. Thus, the PBL method is proven to be effective in improving students' learning outcomes on the Welcoming the Age of Puberty topic at SD Negeri 10 Kotapinang.
