Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas V Materi Indahnya Saling Menghargai dengan Metode PBL (Problem Based Learning)

Abstract


This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students on the topic The Beauty of Mutual Respect using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. This method was chosen because it encourages students to think critically, actively participate, and engage directly in solving problems relevant to their daily lives. The study employed a classroom action research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 20 fifth-grade students at an elementary school. The findings revealed that the implementation of the PBL method effectively improved student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the students' average score increased from 60 (pre-study) to 75, although only 60% of students achieved mastery. After improvements were made in the second cycle, the average score rose to 85, with 90% of students achieving mastery. This improvement demonstrates that the PBL method is effective in enhancing students' understanding and skills on the topic The Beauty of Mutual Respect. The conclusion of this study is that the PBL method can be applied as an alternative teaching approach to improve student learning outcomes, especially on topics that require the understanding of moral and social values. Recommendations for future researchers include applying the PBL method to other relevant topics, considering the context and students' needs, and providing more intensive guidance for students with lower academic abilities to ensure that all students benefit optimally from the learning process.
